BIRD&FISH 2010
-ICHYPPA FESTIVAL: a full day of fun and play for all the ICHYPPA kids, were they perform for eachother and the audience. ICHYPPA enables Mutarese kids to learn all about music, dance and theatre. Several plays will be created by ICHYPPA teachers and directors with the kids especially for this festival. The topic of the year will be dreams. What are your hopes and dreams for the future, for eachother, for yourself and for the world? ICHYPPA’s festival is a yearly event. ICHYPPA trains teachers and artist to train the next generation!

-CITYLINK Theatre Community Programme: This theatre project which allows Zimbabweans and Dutch theatre-artists to work together will take place again, because of great succes in the past! Actors from different Mutarese theatre-groups come together to be directed by dutch directors. A social relevant topic will be explored and put on stage. The artists go in the community to interview, observe and inspire. The play that is born from this research will be performed in the Courthauld Theatre, Mutare, and at several schools in and around Mutare.

-BIRD&FISH – the play: The friendship between the BIRD&FISH started in 2007 and will now take full form on stage. Allen Mapingure and Joyce Timmerman will be directed by Jansje Meijman and Henry Tsopotsa in a honest play on the differences between them and the worlds they come from. It’s a BIRD&FISH production about all things concerning life in the water and life in the sky. The bird and the fish meet at the watershore, for a rendez-vous on life, hopes, and dreams.
