In 2007 the comic ‘Will Power’ was created and performed in Mutare, Zimbabwe. This theatre programme is part of the Haarlem-Mutare CityLink. The play was all about men and women and different gender issues. The play consisted of adapted Shakespeare-texts as well as tales and stories from the community. The play travelled to Amakhosi Theatre in Bulaweyo and performed at several festivals in Manicaland.
In 2009 ‘The Odd One Out’ was created and performed at the Courthauld Theatre in Mutare. This play was all about tolerance and was set in the imaginary Land of the Hats. What happends when a stranger comes to town, a stranger without a hat?
Alongside this project, BIRD&FISH facilitated a theatre workshop for teachers who were interested in starting dramaclubs in schools. This workshop was organised by ArtFulism.
